As I sit here writing my second to last paper (hello graduate degree!) I can't help but fantasize about my new job. That's right. New job, new credentials, and a big apartment move coming up! I can't tell you how good it all feels. I've been scheming new office looks because I'm not sure how easy it will be for me to drop my very conservative office attire. I've been brainwashed :( This alice + olivia look has me feeling all giddy! I would have to switch up the shoes because I'm a goober in stilettos. So these Dr. Martens I've been eying should do the trick!

Delirious midnight post? Sore throat and fever? Failed attempt to make it through the work day? It's official, people, my body is revolting against me! I remember in 8th grade having a history teacher explain the difference between a rebellion and a revolution. Rebellion is like starting with a triangle and then changing the size of the shape. Revolution? Well, that's going from a triangle to a whole new shape all together - like a quadrangle!

My body is craving a revolution. I need to get in tip top shape for my 25th birthday! I was on my way there, running a few miles a day, when my arch started to hurt... 2 weeks ago. It's time to get back on track with a new pair of sneakers. Asics are absolutely the best. This coming from a very injury prone mamacita! Happy Valentine's Day!

As I'm sure most of you know, right now is Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week. I'm drawn to black for so many reasons, but mostly because it just makes so much sense with my tight budget. Black can take you from the work place, to Happy Hour drinks and then out on the town. Black is chic on its own, but also the perfect template for standalone jewelry. I could go on and on! We've been hunkering down over here. There always seems to be an endless amount of things to do. School, work and apartment hunting are all relentless. That clearly leaves only one viable option each and every evening: watching a Sons of Anarchy marathon on Netflix. The good news is that I am becoming much more of a bad ass in the process. Maybe it's just the combination of exhaustion and stress, but I find myself being drawn to the color orange. It's really the first time I've enjoyed orange without feeling pressured. I'm clearly riding the consistent blog hiatus wave. Lots of apologies. My only excuse is that I'm a mere human! There's just too much going on right now. Hopefully, I'll have some big updates in the near future. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this update includes completion of a never-ending graduate degree program. In the meantime, here's a sweet color scheme that has been bopping around my brain: navy, tomato red and mustard. Looks good on everyone and pairs well with gold and cognac!
