America is what's really good, my friends! Judging from these pieces, Natsy Gal for sure knows this piece of truth! Hope we can all keep the U.S.A. in our minds today while watching the Royal Wedding...on repeat...tearing up and clasping our hands together in pure joy! True love!

Bathroom Manners

I love the idea of having hilarious prints inside your bathroom. I'm by no means a morning person, so any laughter in the AM is a true miracle. These prints have the humor and color palette I'm most naturally drawn to. When I decide to invest in proper bathroom decor, these two will be first on my list.

This planter is quite possibly my most favorite interpretation of my least favorite animal. Touche, Mottahedeh + Company!
All About Hooky
Back from a quick trip to the chiropractor, I have a few minutes to spare before heading off to a half-day of work. I've been ogling these silk shirts on Rachel Rose's Etsy shop for weeks. How much more comfortable and beautiful could they get? Such a great price for silk shirts and how very work appropriate! I just found Rachel Rose's website - so amazing! The idea of requesting custom colors is blowing my mind!

That Something Special
It's probably pretty clear from this blog that I am a very visual person. I can't get over these photographs by Kava Gorna. I'm that typical sketchy photo-shy person, but these pictures make me wish I wasn't. I love artists who are able to capture that je ne sais quoi...

Happy Easter Sunday! It's a gorgeous day out, but I can't say that I'll be properly enjoying it. Just so happens to be finals time of year. Puff! So it goes. I am back to drinking lots and lots of Tazo Awake Tea. Given how much coffee and tea I consume, I should probably consider updating my mug collection... though I'd be willing to bet my "the boss" mug will remain number one.

Happy Earth Day!
Aside from the squirm I usually feel from listening to West Coasters speak, I love this video and I love What Goes Around Comes Around. Recycle and buy vintage!

Oh, how I love me a good knit dress! The thicker the knit the better - all curves, baby! Can you imagine walking along the beach in this? Because I sure can. And yes, any heat makes me sweat profusely so it is night time in my imagination.

Frosting Please

I almost forgot about this color palette - and how well it worked for me during the ol' Bar Mitzvah/ Bat Mitzvah season. Glad to have ya back for Fall 2011!

One of These Days
A special adjective is being thrown around here tonight - that is "dumptastic". What a start to the week! Kind of preferring my intense hang over to this bad case of professional pricklism. That's truly saying something! Listening to this song and imagining myself trouncing around kicking some serious booty! Very soothing.

Easy on the Eyes
found here |
Sorry for the radio silence recently. I have been enjoying and celebrating (for me, those are two very different acts) my 24th birthday! I know, I know. Big whoop dee doo. Next year there will be much more to get excited about...
I have of course been scheming how to look young forever. First step, vitamins! Next step, exercise! Further down the line, eye cream! I have extremely sensitive skin, especially around my eyes. Most products sting or make my eyes itch. I have been waiting for a miracle...Voila! This Kiehl's product is the perfect combination of moisturizing and gentle. Off for a yog I go! Happy weekend!

I'm Freaking in a Good Way
found here via a lovely being |
It's a wonder I have any self control. I mean I would kill to go wild in this direction decorating a bedroom. Not to mention this sweet soul sister sent me some tunes today while I was at the day job. It was all I could do to control my boogie butt, but you know I did. Guess what time it is now? Boogie butt time!
Larger Than Life
I am between a rock and a very hard place. The above bad boy has me stumped. It measures over 5 feet by 7 feet! I love the idea of dedicating an entire wall to this stunner, but I don't even have the wall space at this point! Is it okay to make the investment now? The price is $200 - that's basically less than the cost of materials! Help!

Fresh Faces, Full Bloom
found here |
Rise and shine! This weekend has felt so refreshing. I am chipping away at a few finals and managed to fit in a nice, long run. Best of all, it finally feels like spring has arrived here in Philadelphia. I feel like I get a new face when warm weather approaches! If I weren't broke as a joke, I would be investing in these gorgeous, tranquil pieces from Lizzy Stewart and Leah Goren that perfectly capture my peaceful mood. Happy Sunday!

Science Serenade
A drawing from René Decartes' Meditations on First Philosophy |
Does history of science ever give you butterflies? What about medieval science in particular...does it make you feel weak at the knees? Well, me too! Carl Zimmer's Soul Made Flesh: The Discovery of the Brain - and How It Changed the World is at the top of my reading list. Can't wait until I have time to do free reading!

Vagabond Boutique: Mind Readers
found here |

Vagabond Boutique always knows exactly what I must have for spring. Lately, I've been feeling like I play it all too safe with accessories. This may be due to my dreaded day job, but I'm not taking that as an excuse. I'm hoping to push my limits this summer with bright pops of color (pushing beyond turquoise) and this yellow necklace is simply divine!
Just Laugh A Little
found here |
Whenever I am feeling blue, I find myself searching in this shop for this little guy to make me laugh. It's the strangest thing. I just have to laugh. I imagine this feathered fellow thinking he has found a terrific hiding spot - like a human trying to hide behind a telephone pole. You might suppose that I purchased such an emotionally powerful piece of art, but nope, I waited around too long. Ah regrets! Thank you for forcing me to laugh, Miss Kate Wilson!

I'm Being Bullied
found here via Shiny Squirrel |
I am being very mentally hard on myself right now. This image is haunting me as I debate whether or not to go to the gym tonight. Might have to give in to my brain bitch/ mind menace and drag my bum to the gym after all. Hrmph!
UPDATE: Fooled my brain bitch into believing I will wake up and go to the gym tomorrow before work. Psh! Amateur.

In case any of you aren't on the EmersonMade mailing list, these two awesome clutches are back in stock! This is squeal-worthy news. Eeek!
Retro Stands Alone
The Etsy blog had a fabulous feature yesterday titled "Noted: Assembling the Eames Lounge Chair". Although I do love the Eames Lounge Chair, a special place in my heart is reserved for the Eames Shell Chair. A true representation of a hipster phenomenon, if you ask me. In my Youtube searching, I came across what appears to have been the inspiration for the Vitra video. How amazing is the original clip? There's just something untouchable about a retro video documenting expert craftsmanship.
