A serious collection of some pretty pretty pieces that are very fairly priced.  After reading her fabulous blog, I am kicking myself for not finding this shop sooner! So many sparkles :)

Located on the corner of 20th and Lombard, Pub and Kitchen is a guaranteed home run. My boyfriend and I have been on the search for the best burger in the city under twenty dollars (feel like that should be a given) and this is it - even without the price qualifier. Order the Churchill burger and deviled eggs...or any other item on the menu because they are all great. I hear the Happy Hours are pretty saucy as well! Pub and Kitchen is making it a serious challenge for us to be more adventurous because we keep wanting to go back.

Mi scuzi, good friends, followers, and owls! The perfect storm occurred in my life (midterms and a trip to Canada), which left me very little time to blog. My lovely boyfriend and I went on a little road trip to Lambertville, NJ; Woodstock, NY; and Niagara Falls, ON. Two big thumbs up!

I had been waiting patiently for the perfect time to finally try Twenty Manning Grill. Last night wasn't a special occasion, but my boyfriend and I decided it was "time".  The restaurant interior is very warm and inviting. The calamari appetizer was spicy and delicious.

Alas, we will need to venture back to report more on the entrees. With Pub and Kitchen so close by, we should have known ordering burgers only would lead to disappointment!

I have been pining for these shoes forever. I even tried them on a few weeks ago - pure joy. I have pictured so many outfits that would be taken to a whole new level with the addition of these shoes. I read everywhere about the importance of fresh flowers in a home. Sadly, my weekly penny paycheck doesn't usually support this fantasy. Today, I went a little crazy and splurged on hyacinths from Trader Joe's! Nothing says "come hither" to spring better than hyacinths.

As I sit here huffing hyacinths, I can't help but think of my other favorite scent: Petite Chérie by Annick Goutal. This scent is as fresh and delicious as it sounds "peach, musk rose, pear, fresh cut grass and vanilla." It's definitely pricey, so don't go using it as body spray... I promise you will understand that last piece once you smell the scent!

So special! I love the feel of this apartment. I check back to these pictures every so often for inspiration.  This bedroom is close to perfect for me right now. The space has a peaceful vibe despite having a wall full of deer antlers. I'm waiting for the perfect moment to snap a rack of my own up from High Street Market (promise to go into my obsession later). I will of course be hanging prize necklaces off mine!

Barbuzzo Bound

After a certain NYTimes write up, it has been nearly impossible to get a reservation at Barbuzzo on 13th street. This past Monday, the boyfriend and I decided to take a gamble. We walked over in the rain without a reservation... and we were seated at the bar right away!  My order was delicious (mmm burrata) and the bartender was so nice. He gave us a sample order of the "pig popcorn" and even made a cherry coke with grenadine for the girl one stool over!

I've recently been trying to force a certain color on myself. It has always made me feel a bit uncomfortable: the cautionary orange. I am actually shocked when I hear some women enjoy wearing the color. The most flattering shades on me are a bit subdued, but still have just the slightest punch. And you know what? I'm glad I pushed myself on this one!
